In times like these we must realize that the choices we make affect all those around us. We must be motivated in what we do now to seek the common good; to do what is best for ourselves and others.
Christ Church will continue to "Walk in the Way of Love" with our members and with our neighbors.
Christ Church wishes to stand in solidarity with all those who are serving others in hospitals, care facilities, grocery stores, schools, Food processing facilities, places of worship, food pantries, and with all the first responders who risk their health to serve others. You deserve our thanks and admiration!
Our constant and heartfelt prayer is for all to know peace and healing in these uncertain times.
"Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen."
In our Baptismal Covenant we are asked, "Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?" to which we answer, "I will, with God's help." We at Christ Church stand with ALL people of Austin and the surrounding areas. We stand against hate in all it's forms and especially now against attacks and harassment of others based on race during this time of unease and uncertainty.
We are in this together. Let us say "NO!" to the petty voices of ignorance and hate and learn to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before God.
